We were also impressed with the ๐—ฃ๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐˜„๐—ป ๐—ฃ๐—ฎ๐˜€๐˜๐—ฒ ๐—–๐—ต๐—ถ๐—ฐ๐—ธ๐—ฒ๐—ป ๐—ช๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด๐˜€ โ€” delectably crispy and redolent of prawn paste โ€” and ๐—™๐˜‚ ๐—ฌ๐—ผ๐—ป๐—ด ๐—˜๐—ด๐—ด, which was expertly fried to produce a crispy exterior and fluffy interior, yet amazingly wasnโ€™t soaked in oil.

We didnโ€™t like the mediocre Stir ๐—ฆ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ฟ ๐—™๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—ฒ๐—ฑ ๐—ก๐—ฎ๐—ถ ๐—•๐—ฎ๐—ถ (it didnโ€™t cost $91 but it was still too pricey for a neighbourhood eatery) and the disastrous ๐—ฆ๐˜„๐—ฒ๐—ฒ๐˜ ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ ๐—ฆ๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ฟ ๐—ฃ๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐—ธ. The latter consisted of a few sad-looking lumps and a bowl of bland gravy that was neither sweet nor sour.

As its name implies, the specialties at Curry & Curry are the curry dishes, and the Curry Fish Head would be definitely worth your while.

A decent zi char option near Kovan MRT Station is Curry & Curry. Although the dishes we tried were hit and miss, the ๐—–๐˜‚๐—ฟ๐—ฟ๐˜† ๐—™๐—ถ๐˜€๐—ต ๐—›๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—ฑ was phenomenal.

Fleshy and succulent, the meat of the fish was infused with the flavours of the spicy curry. The accompanying pieces of okra and tomato also soaked in the curry beautifully, making them more drool-worthy.

Saw many good reviews on the fish head here, but I came alone and was worried I could finish the entire fish head myself.

Decided to try their rendang chicken.

Very generous amount of rendang, and chicken was soft and tender.

Will return again for the fish head with a companion next time

The curry here has a thicker consistency and slightly towards the sour tangy side. It is not spicy at all and the fish is super fresh. The other dishes here are pretty decent too (at least for those that Iโ€™ve tried so far).

Can always do with delicious curry even when you are not even hungry.


This fish curry place is notorious for their long queues and well so - they serve some great fish curry, but their side dishes are also pretty good! I really like their ngor hiang as itโ€™s packed full of ingredients. Unlike other places which may tend to pack it full of yam, Curry & Curry definitely doesnโ€™t skimp on the meat and even has bits of prawn inside! Freshly fried and hot, this is perfect with fish curry drizzled on it.
