Guide Features of Good Food at Corner House

Headed by acclaimed chef Jason Tan, this classy garden restaurant serves what they call French-inspired, gastro-botanica cuisine, which aims to celebrate sustainably sourced seasonal produce. Their Business Luncheon menu ($58 for three courses, $78 for four courses, available Tuesday to Saturday) offers an initiation to their one-Michelin-starred cooking. You'll be spoilt for choice with options that sound as delicous as they look — think Iberico pork with polenta, buckwheat and beurre noisette, and Patagonian toothfish with cauliflower, parmesan, garlic, hazelnut and lardo. Don't miss their signature "My Interpretation of Kaya Toast" for dessert! Pro-tip: This is one of the places that offers their set lunch menu on a weekend, so make a date for a Saturday feast!

Headed by award-winning chef Jason Tan, Corner House serves up French-inspired gastro-botanica cuisine, using sustainably-sourced seasonal produce. Housed in a black-and-white colonial bungalow in the Botanic Gardens, the garden setting is charming and atmospheric, and perfect for a leisurely meal. On weekdays, catch up with a friend over the three/ four-course Business Luncheon set ($48/ $58); on weekends, bring someone special for the indulgent four-course Sunday brunch ($78). Resist filling up too quickly on the freshly baked bread and croissants, divine as they may be when smeared with French Bordier butter and homemade jam, and save your tummies for the stellar savoury plates. The selection changes regularly, but rest assured the cooking is top notch; standouts include the likes of the wobbly 62 Degree Farm Egg, served on a moat of flavoursome Paris mushroom emulsion, and the Duck Leg Confit — crisp on the outside and fork tender inside, and drizzled with just enough burnt orange, soy caramel and beurre noisette sauce to make taste buds swoon. The desserts here are just as skilfully executed, so expect nothing less than an ensemble of textures and flavours for a sweet, sweet finale. For wine lovers, be sure to get at least a glass from their impressive 40-page wine list.
