I don't fancy baguettes because most of the time, the outer crust is so thick and hard that I end up cutting my gums whilst biting or chewing on them.
Coffee Hut's baguette has a thin and crispy outer skin and is soft and fluffy on the inside. I really like that they do not stinge on the kaya and butter as the flavours come out strongly with each bite.
My parents enjoyed this so much that they had a repeat order!
Coffee Hut in Berseh Food Centre is one of my favourite spots to go for my morning cup of tea and kaya toast.
The uncle running the stall was featured in the press previously for spending thousands of dollars to a Hainan coffee master to learn the ropes of the trade. I don't drink coffee but his tea is one of the best for me in terms of consistency, flavour and aroma.
They make their own kaya sauce (which you can purchase in bottles as well) and their bread are toasted to order. The kaya has a nice strong pandan fragrance and a nice creamy coconuty flavour. One of the best in towns IMHO.
I also like their eye for detail. I'm usually there for a takeaway otw to work and they would pack the toast and drink separately to avoid melting the butter in the toast.
Baguette with kaya butter spread @ $2.80
Seems like the only stall here that sells toast. It's quite good, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Could cut the bread a bit more in the centre though cuz it's cut quite low and with the kaya butter spread at the bottom layer it's quite bottom heavy.
Soft and eggy, (deconstructed if you’d like a atas label to it😂) with butter and sweet kaya served on the side so you can have it however you want😌 Kopi here was quite fragrant too!
Used to frequent this stall for their excellent kopi and kaya toast however stopped due to job change. They roast the coffee beans themselves which gives it a signature taste unlike other traditional coffees. The kaya toast is done with the right butter and kaya ratio. Definitely worth to check out this stall.
Really good and smoky kopi - yummy. A set with the hot coffee and delicious kaya toast - $3.30!
