Tbh I really think this restaurant is so overrated. The chicken is way too dry? Not very juicy.

πŸ“· In frame: Chicken Rice Balls ⁣⁣

✨ This chicken rice dish was just so-so. I don’t really get why shaping the rice into balls make the dish better. Rather, I think it makes it drier. The chicken was slippery and tender but I’ve definitely had better. The chilli, like every element of this dish, was just sub-par as well. ⁣⁣

πŸ’¬ If you’re travelling to Melaka and would like to give this dish a shot, by all means, do so. It is, after all, something you can only find in this part of the country. Don’t expect it to be something to shout about though. ⁣⁣

Totally worth the wait 😁 Not the rice balls thou, I knew I wouldn't like it when I first looked at it cuz I never liked mushy rice. Grainy rice FTW 🍚 #AATeats #chickenriceball #chungwah #melaka #burpple

I expected the rice ball to be just be grains of chicken rice pressed into the shape of a ball, but it was actually a ball of 'mashed' chicken rice, soft and the taste was on point. However, the highlight would be the chilli that went really well with the tasty chicken and the rice.

This was our first stop, which is @ahsooon's highlight for the entire trip! Authentic chicken rice balls - we love their gravy/marinate that's very different from Singaporean-style of Hainanese chicken rice. Theirs had a good balance of saltiness, with a light tinge of sweetness! The rice balls were soft but not too moist and full of fragrance! πŸ˜‹πŸ˜

You can smell the fragrance of the chicken rice just by walking past the stall. Upon entering the shop, you don't even have to order, because the standard quantity for 2 is half chicken, and a whole chicken for 4. πŸ” πŸ˜‹
