From the Burpple community

Chinatown Food Street has been revamped recently and introduced a few new stalls including the famous King of Fried Rice.

This time I ordered their mala fried rice, which still has the wok hey taste but sadly the mala taste wasn’t strong enough for me. But overall is still spicy enough especially after adding the chilli sauce.

I didn't expect even 50 Cents Fest would do a media drop, but we are in an era where nothing is impossible and Impossible Is Nothing (thanks, Adidas). (Clockwise from top left) Glutinous rice, salted vegetable duck soup, chrysanthemum tea (?), tapioca noodles, ang ku kueh. They're 50 cents, don't hold your breath.

Annual 50cents Food Fest happening on 27&28 July 2019!!
A must get is the Kong Ba Bao from Beng Hiang Restaurant @ 2x50cents πŸ˜‹

The 4th edition of The Fifty Cents Fest sees the beloved festival go for a Hokkien theme this year.

Everything is priced from a humble S$0.50 to no more than S$3.00, and visitors will get to taste traditional Hokkien dishes – some of which are rare finds these days!

Some of the ideas that we found really value for money includes:
Kong Ba Bao/ Braised Pork Belly Bun (2 x $0.50)
Buddha Jumps Over The Wall (6 x $0.50)
Fried Black Hokkien Noodles 福建炒青 (2 x $0.50)
Oyster Cake ($0.50)
Red Date Drink ($0.50)

Some of these finds, including the Buddha Jump over the Wall and Fried Hokkien Mee can only be found tucked away in a corner of Chinatown Food Street, in a hidden Hokkien roadside stall. So... keep your eyes peeled for it!

Thank you @qingxiangsqx for the invite, @wom_sgpr and @chinatownfoodstreet for the hospitality.
