It's alright, but no need to eat again. The coconut is inside the thin layer, but also light on flavour. Old-school stuff.
I had no idea what this is. I later found out it's some sort of savoury sesame biscuit, except here, it has a malt sugar filling. Unfortunately I'm not a fan of the taste, and it's worsened by the fact the malt sugar had hardened so badly. I threw most of it away.
Assortment of traditional pastry @ $1.20 each.
Flavours: wife biscuit 老婆饼, red bean biscuit 豆沙饼, red bean mix lotus biscuit 豆蓉饼, lotus biscuit 莲蓉饼.
Traditional pastry shop where the owners speak to one another in dialects which is really really nice to hear.
In this assortment of pastries, I'd say only the red bean mix lotus biscuit is good. The mix of sweet and savoury taste is simpy such a good combination.
The other biscuits taste good too, but not great and there's other shops with pastries that are of better texture. These ones here are flaky on the outside but a little hard on the inside, making it seems like it's been left there for some time already.
