Seriously one of the best seafood soups I've ever tasted. Rich, flavourful, full of umami, and sweet from the seafood, this was everything I ever wanted in a hotpot soup. Even better, it's filled with big prawns (4 of them!), 2 half-shell scallops, lala, baby squid, and more chunks of scallop, alongside handfuls of napa cabbage. Seriously, the claypot came filled to the brim. You can also pick more ingredients to add so we got additional veges and beancurd skin. Don't forget the homemade chilli too - it seriously packs a punch!

The stall also offers lok lok ($1/stick) and how could I resist grilled meat and mushrooms? You get the experience of having the charcoal grill at your table to grill it yourself with the provided butter and yakiniku sauce. Do note that the minimum order for loklok is $10 though!

Right now they're having a promotion - the seafood hotpot I mentioned above is only going for $19.90 which is an absolute steal! Also, the pork skewers are going at only 50cents/stick! Head over now before the promo ends!!

In total, we spent $37.90 for all the food items which I thought was such a value-for-money price considering the quality of the soup. Plus, it's refillable too! The only downside is that the charcoal stink will get on your entire self so remember not to plan any activities after!

Of course, man does not live by soup alone, so Char Stew Kitchen has a bevy of skewers for you to add on at a buck a stick. From marinated meats like beef, chicken and lamb to shiitake mushrooms on a skewer, they have it all for you to grill over an actual charcoal grill. The secret ingredient is that mala chili powder inside the little plastic squeeze bottle. It’s scintillatingly spicy & superbly savoury, transforming everything it touches into sapid & spicy deliciousness.

There may not be snow in Sinagpore, but it sure feels like winter right now with temperatures in the mid twenties. So why not grab three pals and warm up with @charstewkitchensg signature Peppery Chicken & Pig Stomach Charcoal Hotpot ($29 nett)? That’s right, they serve the soup in a claypot that’s still sitting on a heavy but still portable charcoal stove straight to your table.⠀

As you might expect from the name, it’s pretty peppery, but you can still taste the other herbs that went into this nourishing pot of soup. Due to the soup being boiled with chicken bones and goji berries, it also has a palatably pleasant sweetness all throughout the silky smooth soup. Additionally, there’s an abundance of chicken, pig stomach & veggies floating inside the boiling pot of soup. Pig stomach normally carries a strong porky odour, but Char Stew’s one had completely eliminated that odour, leaving behind a charmingly chewy piece of offal.

Discovered a new food place in Tai Seng!

@charstewkitchensg serves up CHARCOAL BBQ and hot pot stew!

For their hotpot, there is a choice of 4 different type of soups. We tried the peppery chicken and pig stomach soup ($29 for 2-3 pax)! This is the best seller and most recommended item! The soup was soo tasty! Peppery with lots of kicks! Lots of peppercorn spotted in the soup too! What’s better is that the soups are refillable! And the refilled soup does not taste diluted at all! The chicken comes with chicken meat chunks, lots of pig stomach, cabbage, and emoji mushrooms! You can also pick more items to add to your hotpot! They are all at $1 per plate. We got some quail eggs, and more taukey skin and enoki mushrooms to add to the soup!

Their bbq sticks are all at $1(min 15 sticks)! There was a wide selection of skewers available, from taiwan sausage, chicken meat, pork meat, chicken mid wings, king oyster mushroom, sliced potato, shitake mushrooms, lady fingers, corn etc . For these bbq skewers, it is recommended to grill them first before brushing on the teriyaki sauce and the chilli powder (otional). Food cooked by charcoal is so much tastier!

Very shiok meal! And the price is also affordable!
