Got the treasure trove set and i must say, everything inside (dumplings and ang ku kuehs) were all so delicious. My favourite is the nonya dumplings as they are exceptionally flavourful!

The orange thing didn't seem like water chestnut cake this time so I'm confused. Regardless, every item was competent.

They pack all the food but didn’t pack TinFoil Clam with vermicelli hais sad call so many times they didn’t even pick up even though they put till 4:30am disappointed

curry sauce was really thick and rich! chicken was tender too but i didn’t really like the sambal as it was too sweet

My usual order is the DRY CHARSIEW HORFUN ($7.30) which comes with caramelised charsiew, crispy fried tofu skin and silky noodles!

Rong liang has been around for a long time here at West Coast. Serving some of the best roasted duck I have ever had.

The duck was tender and was rather easily de-boned. The roasted skin was out of this world for me. Shiok!

The Char siew also damn good, expertly glazed, with charred corners and the right amount of fats. So sinful.

They also have a zhi char menu, but it's their boiled soups here that also have a loyal fan base.

My family and I enjoyed the Treasure Trove set very much, which included our favourite dumpling flavours (signature Nyonya & Hokkien w egg yolk) and a mountain of Angkukuehs. Kimchoo continues to impress with their dumpling quality, both flavours were a hit with my family! Packaging was also huge and generous, making it perfect for gifting. Highly recommend (:

Tried the Treasures Trove gift set which consists of 8 rice dumplings (4 Nonya and 4 Hokkien), and 10 Ang Ku Kueh (5 sweet bean and 5 green tea).

The Nonya rice dumplings are my personal favourite, the flavour is great and has a generous meat filling. The Hokkien rice dumplings were filled with braised pork, mushrooms and a salted egg yolk. The Ang Ku Kueh was not overly sweet and has a chewy texture.

Definitely would recommend this set, especially the rice dumplings as they are delicious and filling enough for a meal!

I quite enjoyed all the pungency you’d expect from cempedak in the rich, velvety cream piped atop the slice of Min Jiang Kueh which was more akin in texture to Bika Ambon. The refreshing salted coconut ice cream also went brilliantly with the heavier elements, and all in all, this was quite the successful marriage of beloved local flavours. I’m very much looking forward to their next venture, whether it be a popup or more permanent spot.

It was refreshing to see Singaporean-inspired desserts on the menu. Of course, they came with Focal's own unique twist, such as this riff on kueh salat which sees pandan custard replaced by corn. Each slice is brushed with smoked maple and brown butter glaze. I think a hint of salt as a counterpoint to the sweetness would have made this even better, but the soothing hot corn tea served alongside complemented the kueh very well as it is.

The fatty Hokkaido Snow Pork lent itself well to being grilled on the barbecue. Perfectly cooked, the fat to meat ratio was to my liking, and the unabashedly flavour-forward combination of coffee oil and chicken jus that graced the protein only served to amplify its savouriness. On it's side sat a pile of crunchy you mai cai that had a delicious smokiness from spending some time on the grilled. This was topped with an intriguing dehydrated celeraic "katsuobushi".
