Butterknife Folk has impressed me on every visit; their gelato is always rich and creamy, and their flavour selection always enthralling. It's curious that they fly under the general public's radar.

The sweet and savoury miso is reminiscent of salted caramel, albeit with a whisper of miso's distinctively fragrant saltiness. The black sesame crisps also added a layer of texture, almost chocolate chip like, and deftly elevated the already intoxicating aromatic levels ā one of the best non-traditional ice cream flavours I've had.

Made it down to @funansg after all the hype & I must say, the changes are so major, I almost forgot what the old Funan looked like!
Apart was all the high tech & neon signages, Funan now has tons of food choices from ramen spaces like @afurisg to dessert stores like @butterknifefolk!
For all you gelato fans, this is another great choice for you! Get your hands on favourites such as their Fudgy Chocolate or unique ones like Pu Er. Get a scoop for $5, or double scoop for $9 (ahem, also more worth it). I heard their flavours change daily, so youād always be in for a treat!

While there are quite the assortment of quirkyĀ and bold flavours on rotation at Butterknife Folk, a firm favourite of mine at anyĀ ice cream parlourĀ is the classic Pistacchio gelato. Luckily their rendition came smooth, rich and completely worth the calories. And the scoop sitting atop is their Ondeh Ondeh, whichĀ captured the essence of thedessert.Ā It was lusciously creamy with a strong dose of coconut, pandan and streaks of gula melaka as well as grated coconutĀ for that extra bit of texture.

NEW vegan TEA flavours - Coco matcha & Houjicha, made in-house in collaboration with @matchayasg šµ! Differing from most houjicha gelato, the one here is made without milk, which resembled more of a sorbet, light and refreshing. Texture is smooth albeit slightly icy, with the characteristic roasted flavour and fragrance still bearing distinctive notes, though I would have personally prefer it to be more intense. As itās made without dairy/milk, you can expect yourself to be having a semi-solid version of a clear Houji tea, one thatās lighter to the palate and less thick and creamy as compared to a milk-based one. On the other hand, the coco matcha is made using coconut milk as its base which eventually (and expectedly) overwhelmed its earthy, umami counterpart, with only subtle notes of the matcha being evident here. My favorite flavour among the 3 would be the Fudgy brownie (hidden below the scoop of Coco Matcha in the cup) thatās made with a Dark Chocolate base embedded with fudgy brownie chunks which were fudgy, gooey and sufficiently moist, slightly sticky as well that adds a dimension of texture to the smooth, creamy bittersweet dark chocolate gelato. A pity itās not available anymore now but do check out @butterknifefolk ig story for their daily update of flavours! šØ . Who knows there might be new (or better) surprises that awaits?! š

I had this at Keeperās Playground and itās Butterknife Folkās special flavour for national day! This tastes like chicken rice, chilli and cilantro, plus it has rice bits in it. The flavour can be a bit strong though, so itās good to share.
A delightful combination with a great resemblance to the traditional mooncake but in a semi-solid form! The texture was smooth, creamy albeit chunky with the salted egg yolk crumbles adding a pleasant tinge of lingering saltiness- a great counter balance to the sweetness of the lotus č²č base. Along with bits of traditional mooncake biscuits, the salted yolk crumbles also added the essential crisp factor to the smooth, creamy and dense ice cream.
London fog: Earl grey with a hint of vanilla. A pleasant lingering aroma that also came with a subtle fragrance of vanilla, along with its characteristic luscious milky flavour. Though the earl grey flavour was distinctive and lingering, I would prefer if it was more intense and perhaps a slight reduction in sweetness for a more pronounced tea flavour. Nevertheless, as a fan of earl grey, this was still a tea-riffic treat for my palate! š Perhaps because they are clearing stocks of the staff was too generous that I was served a HUGE scoop of it ; portion became suffice for a meal instead š. Gelato here are freshly churned and only 1 pan per flavour, do check out heir ig story to be updated of the availability of the flavours each day !
