Very unlike teriyaki chicken found anywhere else, the chicken appear to have been deep fried before being coated by a sweet sticky sauce and further drizzled with mayonnaise.
Scoop big spoons into your mouth, chew and let the sweet savoury flavours mix.
The deep frying makes the chicken taste extra savoury and the ajitama eggs is a cherry on the icing.
Soup on the side is the same soup for their ramen.
Side note: very decent ramen as well. I recommend their Special Ramen.
This new stall located in Eng Kee Kopitiam in West Coast sells Japanese Ramen and Don. I ordered their Teriyaki Chicken Don. At $6.80, it is really value for money because you get a large piece of teriyaki chicken cut into 5 strips,an onsen egg and a bowl of miso soup. The chicken was very crispy but meat a little on the dry side. Overall it’s okay.
I’ll bring the kids with me next time. They love Japanese bentos
