[Weekends Special!] The bubble tea craze was one thing I didn’t see coming - it’s come to a point where bake shops are stuffing bubble tea pearls into croissants! 😧

But it’s not too shabby really. Brother Bird’s mochi croissants have an excellent texture to them - the density and the semi-elasticity that each croissant possesses make it super satisfying to bite into. The boba truthfully didn’t serve to amplify it that much, but it is a fun and unique, albeit peculiar, way to get your fix of bubble tea and croissants all in one. 😛 (7.4/10)

❗️Half price for this weekend dine-in❗️

V few tables + limit to 1 half price item per person

There’s no 50% off for takeaways but since there’s no seats left, I check with them if it’s okay to use my own box and enjoy the half price. They’re cool with that! 👌🏻

(U.P.$6)

This 🍦 is very creamy with caramelised cookie flavour. The almond crumbles and Lotus cookie added nice crunch to it 👍🏻

Probably the flakiest croissant I’ve had! Love the bittersweet chocolate with a hint of minty taste

Kinder Bueno with Almonds ($5)
.
Although these babies from @brotherbirdmilkncrossiants are priced rather steeply for their size, I would highly recommend these if one is in an indulgent mood. The texture of the mochi croissant are as expected, slightly chewy but with a very flaky exterior. The chopped almonds and the icing cream on top paired with the hazelnut cream centre makes “Kinder Bueno” an apt name. Whilst I did find this a tad too sweet, I felt it went well with some hot unsweetened tea for balance.

Here's my two cents on a couple of goodies from Brother Bird's new croissant lineup. I believe they're available till 15/9.

I genuinely like the concept of the Taiwanese Sausage Croissant Roll ($5) - it's a different yet safe take on the homely sausage bun/roll. This was, however, a bit of a let-down; it was as if they just randomly wedged a sausage into croissant pastry. Some sort of binding agent (it seems the suggestion of adding cheese has surfaced) would've made this less dry, and more cohesive as a whole.

The Blueberry Crumble (filled) Mochi Croissant ($4) is a lot softer in texture, as compared to the other croissants. Not the best of the lineup, and other than being filled with (a forgettable) blueberry jam, the "crumble" aspect seems to be missing.

[Further R&D for this current mochi croissant lineup may very well be in the works, according to their Instagram page. We shall stay tuned.]
