The Lychee Martini Cake is one of the more popular cakes here at Bloomsbury Baker

The alcoholic taste was distinct and not overpowering.

Cake was adequately moist within as well, texture was soft and the cream within tasted good and goes so well with the Lychee and the Martini.

managed to buy the matcha sesame tartlet, pulut hitam tartlet, strawberry rhubarb tartlet and earl grey macadamia tartlet. absolutely enjoyed the early grey macadamia tart, which had a surprisingly fragrant earl grey flavour. the pulut hitam is a close second as well, would definitely recommend to try! the matcha and strawberry rhubarb however fell short of my expectations.

not photographed is the hojicha yuzu cake which was a father's day special, which was the best item from the bakery! the textures and flavour profiles were both special and done well, definitely give it a try before they remove it from the menu (:

Although I didn’t manage to get my favourite Pulut Hitam Tartlet from Bloomsbury Bakers (sold out in 30min😭), thankfully the other items did not disappoint:

🍓Strawberry Rhubarb Crumble Tartlet ($3.20)
The strawberry rhubarb filling literally lava-ed out of the tart once you cut into it. The tartness of the rhubarb balances the sweetness of the strawberry and the freshness of the fruits really comes through. The tart pastry is crisp and buttery - delightful!

🍵Matcha Tartlet ($3.20)
The first thing that came to mind is that this matcha is INTENSE. The matcha ganache is rich and creamy and the bitterness of the Uji matcha powder complements the chocolate tart. Hard to resist for Matcha lovers out there!

🍫Plain Brownie ($5)
To be honest, I chose brownie over cake simply because I wanted something that is easy to transport, so I didn’t really have much expectations for this. However, the brownie turned out good! It is rich but not cloying, with just the right amount of chewiness. Although I am not a big fan of chocolate, I found myself enjoying the aroma and texture of the brownie.

Glad to have new items joining Pulut Hitam Tartlet on my list of favourites from Bloomsbury Bakers:)!

I may not have a sweet tooth, but I can have the Pulut Hitam Tart ($3.20 each) any time any day! The buttery tart is filled with a layer of black glutinous rice, a layer of coconut panna cotta and topped with toasted coconut flakes. The contrast in textures, coconut aroma and level of sweetness are on point - love it!

The Brownie Speculoos Cookie Butter Tart ($3.20 each) is not bad too - the chocolaty, biscuity and buttery flavours complement one another and the sweetness is balanced by a hint of sea salt. Having said that, if I have to pick one item that stole the show, it will definitely have to be the Pulut Hitam Tart🤤

got this for my 21st, the cheesecake was surprisingly light and not gelak at all. lotus biscoff added a nice crunch to it! just be careful of the mess when cutting the cake 😥

Very well executed piece of art. Lychees were definitely soaked well in alcohol. Cream was light and the sponge was soft and airy. If I’ll have to choose just 1 cake, this will be it!
