We all liked the Soy Good Chicken Burger ($15) and thought that the sweet sesame soy-garlic sauce was a winner that complemented tender chicken leg fillings.

What's your fav new burger place in Singapore?

A very familiar dish among bars and bistro. We called them spam fries. Essentially, it has become a staple dish for any visit to the black nut bistro and bar.
Accompanied by generous portion of curry mayo and topped up with pleasant music, this conducive environment will ensure that you are able to catch up with gossips with cliques. These fries definitely be on your finger the whole night as conversation flows.

This new bar situated along Emerald Hill at Peranakan Place takes inspiration from the humble buah keluak (black nut), an ingredient frequently used in Indonesian and Peranakan cuisine. Serving bar bites and a few mains for dinner, go for the Balukoo Wanton ($18) — crisp, deep-fried wantons stuffed with a spicy buah keluak filling. For something more substantial, try the Asian-influenced Ayam Bakar Burger ($18) brimming with the flavours of lemongrass, assam, blue ginger and kaffir lime leaves, while the juicy chicken leg is glazed in sweet and sticky kecap manis and a homemade rempah spice. Grab a few drinks to wash it all down!

Essentially chicken wings coated in a sticky, carrot cake chilli-esque sauce that will cheekily (chickily?) find its way all over your mouth. 3.6/5

Happy hour until 9pm; double shot of whiskey for $12++ (single with standard mixers at $6++ only) which is pretty dang reasonable. Premises had overly loud music which I didn't appreciate, & it was really cold too (partly because it was empty). If they fixed this it'd probably be a much cosier place to hang out at. The drinks weren't bad but I probably wouldn't return anytime soon.

Ps: For some reason, they had no draft beer tonight...
