Most of the people might be very familiar with the famous ba chor mee or mee sua at the corner of south beach road across clarke quay, used to be one of the supper spots option after drinking. But it is also a breakfast option (which is when I went for!)

If you had not know, the OG mee sua stall has actually changed hands a few times. The current one I had is still reasonably good. Their mee pok is springy, good amount of vinegar and pork lard (not that I eat) but good enough when it soaks in the gravy adding extra flavors to it. They are very generous with their noodles and soup ingredients portion. There were good amount of pork slices, fishball, meatball, pork liver, fish paste dumpling and generous amount of minced meat.

All that for about $6-$6.50. It’s a decent enough bowl of noodles to start your day!

At less than 500m away from Clarke Quay where all the clubs and bars are, BK Eating House (open 24H) is a great spot to get your supper fix after a night of drinking. I ordered the Signature Dry Mee Sua ($4), which I find rather unique, because it is usually mee pok or mee kia that is drenched in the BCM kind of chilli sauce. After a few mouthfuls of the mee sua, I discovered the reason why most people would order this. I find myself strangely slurping up mouthfuls after mouthfuls of mee sua without feeling the gelat-ness, which is rather apparent in mee kia and mee pok noodles. It's a great bowl of noodles that would fit everyone's appetite, and fill your hungry belly.

The chilli version is not spicy shiok enough while the non-spicy version has too much tomato sauce. Overall, it is still decent and not too bad.

While most people are here for the Mee Sua, you also get other foods here. The Mee Goreng Pattaya often in decent portion for only $6.

PRICE: $4(+$0.50 for egg)

REMARKS:
- Above expectations
- Don’t like that it was fried with peas, carrots and corn

WILL WE RETURN? Not really
