Between Buns

Another sandwich from the bb x modo pop up! The fried chicken batter was so resilient - even tho we had it ~30 mins after collecting it, it still retained that crunchiness, and it was nicely seasoned. The chicken was juicy on the inside, v yummy! There was a spicy sauce (harissa relish, i found out after) and fresh lettuce, sandwiched between brioche buns by modo which were pillowy soft. There were quite a bit of fats at one side so I removed it as it was quite greasy. Other than that it’s a solid sandwich.

Between this and the balik ekmek I preferred the balik ekmek bc it had a bigger wow factor - I don’t see many impressive mackerel sandwiches around but fried chicken sandwiches r more common.

Also shoutout to them for prepping our orders only after we arrive (waited about ~15 mins for it no biggie) so it is fresh and hot when served!!

Got this at their bb x modo pop up! I didn’t expect this to be so nice?! The grilled mackerel was so succulent and flaky, no fishy taste whatsoever, just nicely seasoned, tasty juicy fish. The “sorrel emulsion” was a green herby sauce, paired well with the fish and red peppers + onions! The english muffin was not as outstanding, but it was pretty decent, tho it could have been fluffier. The sandwich is on the oily side, but mackerel is an oily fish, so it’s good fats and it didn’t taste off-putting. We both loved this and it exceeded our expectations!!
