Awfully Chocolate (Suntec City)

First time trying the peanut butter chocolate cake at Awfully Chocolate and it’s a great choice for those who love both peanut butter and chocolate. Now you get the best of both worlds in one cake. I believe the chocolate cake base is the same as the super stacked, so it’s just as soft, rich and chocolatey as the OG. The peanut butter layers on this cake are creamy and light, with the peanut butter flavour taking the limelight. However the peanut butter cream got to be too sweet after a few bites, so it definitely has the potential to be even nicer if they toned down the sweetness a fair bit.

Nothing much to comment about the super stacked chocolate cake. It’s an oldie but a goldie. Apart from the variations in size and shape this cake slice has been presented in over the years, the taste is still familiar and good for chocolate lovers. I do have to say that it feels as though this long and thin presentation doesn’t feel as satisfying as you don’t get as much satisfaction per bite as compared to the days when the slices were thicker (maybe they were shorter too but I can’t recall). However, the cake slice presentations are a lot more uniform now and are served on custom ‘Awfully Chocolate’ cardboard bases so they look prettier. Guess something’s gotta give in the face of the IG foodie generation.

Best pairing for the slices at the counter... Not only that the taste was excellent... The service staff was really nice... He actually share with us on each type of slice ingredients and which are the best selling ones to the pairing of different slices to ice cream or not etc... Enjoyed my day and definitely will be back for more...

Late lunch-cum-tea, so this is totally justified! 😍 Besides, I'm such a Mille-Crepe girl. Again, best to share among 10! Gets a little too creamy, chocolatey and rich after a few bites 😝
