Ambush (Junction 8)

Innovative menu but sadly the execution lacked finesse. Lots of potential for this western diner but the execution needs improvement.

Salmon was over cooked and the eggplant parmigiana was almost burnt. The portion of the eggplant parmigiana was so little , it was hardly worth the overall price tag.

Better to stick with their lunch set deals for a moe affordable meal.

been awhile since i last had vongole and this ticked all the right boxes. the sauce was light yet flavourful and they were super generous with the clams 🤩 spiciness level seems a little inconsistent though. have had this twice recently and the first time it had zero spice but it was more prominent the second time.

rosti with smoked salmon served with sour cream! the rosti was flavourful, crispy and not too oily. and smoked salmon is always a good pairing. can’t find any faults with it 👌🏻

food: ok for its price. the meat didn't feel very textured and felt too smooth to be real meat, however it was seasoned nicely. expected a half-juicy but thoroughly cooked patty. the bacon overpowered the meal and so it wasn't too pleasant. the cheese was the sole saviour of this dish. mushroom soup tasted very canned and it was nice, but it did not fulfil my mushroom soup craving.

service: we had waited around 30 min before our food came, and had to ask the waiters twice about our food. we were situated in quite a cramped area with little air, ruining the experience. we got even hangrier as we saw all receiving their food but us :(

Although not a chef recommendation here, this plate of Risotto was surprisingly good.

Highly recommended by myself, its creamy, cheesy, and the shrimps and scallops was cooked well.

It was so good that we wanted to order a other plate. But decided against it when the half pork knuckle arrived.
