Apparently halloumi cheese has a high melting point and it's property as a semi-hard cheese makes it one that is favorable for grilling.

4 slices of halloumi cheese ($16) were presented with this portion. I really wanted to like and appreciate the brininess and flavor of the cheese, but I couldn't. Not even pairing it with other foods could dull its overpowering saltiness. I liked the bite and texture of each slice, but this is really for the hardcore cheese lovers.

This is a flatbread covered with bubbly cheese ($5.50). There is no possible way this could go wrong. The savory, slightly salty mozzarella with the chewy flatbread...it tastes like a pizza.

I intended for this to be a hummus dip, but really it tastes better on its own. Cheese and hummus is too much oil, and the earthy flavors of the hummus tend to overwhelm the cheese. But it's definitely worth the try.

The owner added as he cleared our plates: "all the bread is handmade as a Mediterranean place has to get its bread right. The mains can be inconsistent, but the bread must always be good." As a bread lover, I nodded vigorously in agreement.

Really wanted to try a lamb dish since it's less common in Asian cuisine, so I tried this charcoal grilled lamb chops served with pickled red cabbage and a choice of saffron rice or French fries. ($32)

These delightful lollipops of meat were really juicy and I loved the spice rub/marinade that was packed onto them. They came off the bone with minimal effort and pulling, without that gamey muttony flavor which can taint this wonderful red meat. They also had a nice smokey char from the barbeque grill.

I just wish they could have been slightly more tender and pink in the center. That would have elevated this dish to an above-8 level.

The platter came with minced lamb kebab, minced chicken kebab, grilled lamb cubes and grilled chicken cubes. Liked that their meats weren’t too salty and not overly dry, and lamb was done pretty well and flavourfully 😋😋 Side of pickled cabbage was really refreshing and a nice contrast to the meats, but rice was slightly disappointing and not as fragrant as I expected. Definitely well worth with eatigo’s 50% off!

Always end up getting the platter at this kind of Mediterranean places (cause who understands the menu 😂😂) The mezza platter came with hummus, motabal, tabbouleh, fattoush, warek aresh, falafel and rakakat bel jebneh, served with 4 airy pita breads. The dips were pretty average and nothing much to shout about, except the cranberry was a good mix of crunch. The falafels were nicely done as well, but only 2 in a big platter 😢😢 Really worth with eatigo 50% off, but don’t think I’ll pay full price for this though 🤔🤔

Charcoal grilled lamb chops marinated in Lebanese spices.

This modern restaurant at Holland Village recreates the bold flavours of traditional Midden Eastern cuisine. Their wide variety of mezze, or bite-size appetizers make it an ideal place to have a few drinks and chillax.
The lamb chops were really flavourful and had succulent fall-off-the-bone meat. As for the sides, there’s still room for improvement.
