The mixed mushroom pizza ($26) was the best pizza out of the three that we had ordered.

The white-based pizza was served with 3 different types of mushrooms. All the Flavours worked well together. Pizza dough was also splendid, I even ate the crusts of the pizza.

Ordered the octopus served with hummus and nduja ($22), a small plate for sharing.

The octopus was slightly rubbery, and could've been cooked for a tad shorter. The hummus could've used slightly more garlic. Nduja is a kind of Chilli pork jam, it paired very well with the hummus and octopus.

Dish was quite enjoyable, although could do with some improvement.

Managed to eat the Red Bean Pancake ($1.20 each) from Tanglin Halt Market Stall 16.

The dough was soft and tasted like Michu, and the Red Bean filling was had the right level of sweetness! The ratio of dough to filling was also just right.

Overall, a really value for money snack that can be eaten at all times of the day!

Being greedy, and wanting to try everything, I ordered the meat bowl for lunch ($22), which came with a sous vide egg, pork belly (lurou), burnt Chilli chicken and haus bacon. I also paid an extra $0.50 to upgrade to shiny rice, which is basically white rice drizzled with lard and garlic oil.

The shiny rice is a must get!!! Although sinful, the lard and garlic oil made the rice much more flavourful and fragrant. I only wish more oil could've been drizzled.

The pork belly had a very strong herbal taste, but the meat was soft and well cooked. The burnt Chilli chicken was well charred, although it could've been spicier. The haus bacon was well seasoned and was probably my favourite, although the fat wasn't rendered properly.

All in all, a great meal!

Went down to Syun and RWS one fine Saturday afternoon and ordered the premium nigiri sushi lunch set ($72). It came with 8 different kinds of sushi, served with miso soup, chawanmushi and salad.

The fish was very fresh and the rice was well seasoned. I enjoyed the selection of sushi, and the great service made me feel as if I was transported back to Japan!

The chawanmushi had a great texture, and included prawn, chicken, ginkgo nut and mushroom.

For the price, it was a fantastic meal. Pity the set didn't come with desert!

Walked past this restaurant a number of times when it first opened and was always tempted to try.

Finally went down one day and ordered the braised fish maw and seafood kway teow with chicken cutlet ($9.50, U.P. $11.50).

Other than fish maw and chicken cutlet, it was also served with broccoli, cauliflower, mushrooms, prawns (4 of them!!) and sliced fish. The portion was generous and the gravy was delicious. The kway Teow was well cooked and not overly soft. The chicken was served hot and crispy, but yet not dry. Great comfort food on a cold rainy day.

Went for lunch at dumpling darlings one day and got the set lunch ($16) which came with a choice of noodles, 5 dumplings and a drink.

Picked the braised pork noodles and it tasted a bit like Bak Chor Mee. The texture of the noodles was a perfect qq but the flavours were ordinary.

Managed to try both their original dumplings and smoked duck dumplings and the smoked duck dumplings were clearly superior.

We then ordered their desert dumplings ($8 for 5), which were fried dumplings filled with cream cheese, poached pear, amaretto and vanilla bean served with honey ice cream. This was incredible and the combination of textures was fab.

I will be back for dumplings!!
