Not many know about this cozy izakaya tucked away in Golden Mile Tower. @yorimichi_lzakaya serves up great comfort food; think super satisfying garlic fried rice, a good variety of appetizers and well grilled yakitori skewers.

Located in the spanking new @gridsingapore (previously POMO) is @isshinmachi.sg, a hip Taiwanese restaurant that has a wide selection of food and even craft beers.

The fried rice passed the DTF test and came with a massive flattened crispy chicken thigh, seasoned in Taiwan’s signature hu jiao fen. Make sure to ask for their chilli oil to give this yummy dish that extra kick!

Throughly impressed with this boozey ice cream bar concept by @theicecreambarsg. Majority of their flavours have a delightful alcoholic twist to them that made me feel a child in a candy store again. We went with the Bailey Brownies, Chewy Coffee Whiskey and Guinness Pistachio for our picks on their buttermilk waffle.

Was quite amazed at how well balanced each flavour was, you could taste each component distinctively and yet it melded together quite well. Definitely try the Guinness Pistachio which hits you first with the Guinness, then kicks in with a nutty aftertaste. And their waffles? Super crisp and light, perfect for their decadent ice creams. 👌

Hard to pick favourites at @manam.sg when everything packed a ton of flavour! The menu features South Indian cuisine and you can’t miss out on some of their curries, especially the rich and aromatic Varutharaicha Kari Kuzhambu ($23); tender mutton pieces in a spicy curry mix. Do yourself a favor and make sure you get their garlic naan to mop up any curries or gravies as well, definitely one of the best naans I’ve tasted with a perfect mix of chewy and crisp parts.

Amazing vibes over at @rawkitchenbar; cool, breezy outdoor space that’s pet-friendly too! The menu is compact but takes inspiration from a variety of Asian cuisines like Thai, Japanese, Balinese to name a few. Intrigued by their signature Raw Salmon Laab, their exciting take on Laab hit all the right notes; refreshing, herbaceous and just mildly spicy, though the toasted rice bits though were a little too crunchy for me. Looking forward to revisiting again on another cool day!

@sidewayssg might be gone, but it’s spirit (and oven) lives on at @firepitbyburn! 🔥 Anything that goes into that oven comes out beautifully charred, smokey and wonderfully flavoured; and this tender grilled octopus leg is no exception. If you’ve always thought about trying something like this, but still want to save on some cash, you can use #BurppleBeyond here to get 1-for-1!

With @burpple’s 1-for-1, this ribeye steak from @ryanskitchen_sg was super worth it! Nicely done to my requested medium rare, the meat was tender and well seasoned, and it had a pleasant charred flavour. A little bit sinewy at some points, but can’t complain. Opt for the crisp fries over the less exciting mashed potatoes.

This was surprisingly good for a place we just randomly decided to drop into! Super crispy Korean fried chicken and you can pick to divvy up the whole chicken into two flavours. Best part is they offer a boneless option for all us lazy eaters.

Newly opened in @sunteccity, @kiwami_sg is almost your typical ramen joint with comforting ramens, gyozas, fried rice and more. While the base offerings seem normal, they do have interesting variants like the Mala Gyoza which hit all the right notes; just the right amount of numbing flavour in the sauce.

Coming from the @engroup_sg, the toriniku cha shu has high expectations, luckily it’s as tender and moist as it looks. Even the broth surprised me with its milky rich flavour that marries pork bone broth and the black garlic oil perfectly together.

Next time though, I think we’ll both go for the Steep’s Breakfast ($19), which comes loaded with eggs of your choice, sausages, turkey bacon, avocado, grilled tomato and wonderfully crispy tater tots. Perfect way to start the weekend.

A new cozy cafe, @steep.sg recently opened up near Jalan Besar MRT serving up the usual; hearty big breakfasts and amazing smelling pastas. Now, I generally don’t order eggs benedict at cafes due to the price, but with @burpple’s 1-for-1 on brunch items, why not. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Good coffee, comforting food is the name of the game here. Eggs were nicely poached (though personal preference for the sourdough to be lightly toasted). Definitely yummy though, if eggs Benny is your thing.
