I tried their Gyutan Yaki Omakase Course ($65++), which is a 9-course meal comprising:
.
๐ฅ Daikon Miso
๐ซ Edamame
๐ฅ Salad
๐ Satsuma age (fish cake)
๐ฆช Today's Recommended (we had fried oysters)
๐ข Oden Moriawase
๐ฅฉ Wagyu Mountain Roast BEEF
๐ Gyutan Yaki
๐ Rice and Tororo
.
That mountain of roast beef was certainly the highlight for us! ๐ Doused with an addictive sweet-savoury sauce with a slight peppery kick, the slices were tender & not gamey at all! ๐ The chunky gyutan was brilliant as well; loved the chew! ๐คค
.
The oden was another hit for me ๐ฒ! With rather flavourful yet clear-tasting broth & springy oden ๐ฅ, this is the perfect comfort food for rainy days!
๐ La Mattina Dopo (The Morning After Pizza):ย their signature pizzas are always perfect for sharing! This features tomato sauce ๐ , mozzarella, bacon ๐ฅ & mushrooms, with a soft egg ๐ณ set in the centre!
๐ฅ Smashed Avocado Tartine with 63ยฐ Eggs ($20++):ย generously slathered on the garlic sourdough toast ๐ is beetroot tzatziki ๐, smashed avocado, sun dried tomatoes & feta cheese! Topped with shaved Grana Padano ๐ง & served with mesclun salad ๐ฅ on the side, this boasts of earthy flavours.
Exclusive to this Year of the Rabbit ๐ฐ, each pastry is filled with smooth lotus seed paste, a quarter of golden salted egg yolk ๐งก & savoury pork floss. The firm pastry (like cookie crust) boasts of rich buttery notes ๐ง, with the egg yolk elevating the flavours. ๐๐ป
.
Freshly made with no preservatives, this makes a perfect bite-sized treat this Mid-Autumn Festival ๐ฎ, provided you actually bear to eat them! ๐คญ
๐ผ Yuzu Apple Tart ($12++): love this light & refreshing one! ๐๐ป Featuring a buttery tart shell filled with a lemon madeleine ๐ & hazelnut praline ๐ฐ, topped with glazed yuzu & Granny Smith compote ๐. Finished with a refreshing Swiss Meringue โ๏ธ, this pretty tart resembles a pretty flower. ๐
๐ฟ Squirrel ($14++): fans of chocolate are in for a treat! ๐คค Featuring a moist chocolate flourless cake layered with chocolate biscuit ๐ซ, pecan brownie, & a luscious salted caramel crรฉmeux coated with a dark chocolate crunch, this is then topped with an adorable squirrel made from
an orange milk chocolate crรฉmeux ๐ & 64% Manjari chocolate mousse.
โค๏ธ Scarlet Rose ($13++): perfect for fans of ispahan! This is a rose lychee mousse cake ๐น with champagne jelly ๐ฅ & red velvet sponge that rests on a a salty cocoa crumble base. I enjoyed the floral & fruity notes! ๐
My pick would be the Charred Broccoli with Tobiko ($15++)! โค๏ธ Featuring broccoli ๐ฅฆ pickled beetroot tossed in yuzu mayo, topped with bonito flakes & tobiko, this was such a creamy & indulgent side! ๐๐ป๐๐ป Can't miss this dish when you are here at Alice Boulangerie!
For appetiser, go for their Scallop Ceviche ($19++) for a plate of fresh Hokkaido Scallop Sashimi ๐ค, accompanied by zesty yuzu gel, ponzu sauce, lemon vinaigrette ๐ & fennel. So fresh!
Fans of matcha would enjoy their Matcha Cream Latte ($7.50++) ๐ต, topped with a dollop of light chantilly cream โ๏ธ to render some sweetness & richness.
Their Pan Roasted Wild Cod ($43++) was equally delightful! ๐คค Featuring a buttery-fleshed French cod ๐ in dashi leek cream, this is served with grilled leeks, roasted potatoes ๐ฅ. I like how it is topped with crispy potato strings ๐, not shallots or ginger.
Had a nice dinner at Alice Boulangerie! โ๏ธ Our favourite has got to be their Charred Octopus with Butternut ๐ ($32++)! Love how soft & springy the sous-vide octopus seasoned with curry powder was.
.
The savoury smoked bacon ragout ๐ฅ & sweet butternut squash puree ๐ complements each other perfectly. Topped with crispy squid ink cracker, spanish beans & olives, this was a dish full of contrasting yet harmonised flavours & textures! โค๏ธ
