Came by Shukuu Izakaya on a weekday night. Pretty surprised how packed it was, so there was a certain degree of noise.

Ordered a variety of dishes, of which a couple left an impression. The crab roe mentaiko was pretty interesting and delicious! Mentaiko provided the umami to the crab meat.

The place has nice Izakaya vibes so if you’re looking for that this is the place to be!

We discovered a whole row of eateries at Vision Exchange which is a stone’s throw away from Jurong East mrt, so that’s really convenient.

Had the foie gras gyudon, and it was really affordable compared to what you pay for foie gras in other restaurants. Beef shabu shabu on the bowl was not bad too. Overall, it was a pretty simple affair!

Had the original BBQ pork ribs with a side of green salad and corn bread. The ribs was well-glazed with deep red marinade, meat was tender and fell from the bone easily.

For a good affordable ribs, I might come back but prolly would select other sides instead.

My virgin attempt doing the udon at Wok Hey where there are outlets blossoming all over Singapore. I have to say the Chilli does pack a punch and it resembles LaoGanMa with all that Chilli bits, really flavourful. This takeaway box resembles the Chinese takeaways that are pretty popular in the West so I have to say it’s pretty interesting since we don’t see this that much in Singapore.

Although this looks so colourful, don’t be deceived! The brioche bun was too thick for my liking, the poached eggs didn’t flow like how I expected it to be, the taste was quite one-dimensional so after eating too many mouthfuls you get a bit tired. There’s much to improve in my opinion!

I love that this has the authentic taro taste and texture. There isn’t purple food colouring added to this either! However, the bubbles could be slightly softer but all in all it’s a good drink!

This is from a relatively newer Korean eatery @yogiyosg at Beauty World. Verdict of seafood pancake: it’s really one huge pancake, much larger than the kimchi version. However it scored points for being both crispy and chewy. The seafood pieces were great too.

We chanced upon @buddyhoagies_sg and I was sold when I saw a beautiful rack on the poster. It’s a pity though that the barbecue sauce only glazed over the meat and wasn’t infused within each pork rib. However, meat was still tender, soft and delicious so kudos to that.

I read so much about the lobster noodle at Mian Jia and was stoked to give it a shot! The broth was rich and savoury. However, it’s pretty expensive for a bowl of noodles, but what to do it’s lobster after all.

The soups were the clear winner for us, especially this king prawn dumpling in superior broth. It’s obvious that these took many hours of gentle boiling to bring out all those amazing flavours. I love how fat each dumpling was, enveloped in such soft and smooth skin. Highly recommend!

This is the falafel burger that I selected based on popular reviews. that I absolutely love the falafel because the outer layer was crispy while the inside was still soft and moist. It’s not the easier to achieve such great texture. The pita bread is amazing too - doughy and soft, you can’t go wrong.

This Italian eatery is buzzing with customers every weekend. After having a go at their signature dishes, I can understand why.

This is the oh-so-famous porcetta, baked pork belly ($9). I absolutely enjoy this pork belly roll. The skin is thin and crispy, the layer of fennel adds a great balance to the think meaty cuts. The mustard is light yet provides a sour spicy element to the pork, cutting through that density. I highly recommend this!
