Ginett is known for its great deals including the 2h free flow $15 mimosa weekend brunch deal with every main meal ordered, and many other deals that vary each day of the week. As girls who love their mimosas, 🥂 we’ve been to Ginett quite a few times and think the quality of their food is generally enjoyable (our overall rating from our visits is 7/10). However, our experience at Ginett this time round was quite shockingly unfortunate… 🫣

Wild Mushroom Truffle Risotto ($21++) 🍄 6.5/10
Arborio rice, truffle essence, mascarpone cream, grilled seasonal vegetables

The earthy taste of the mushrooms shined through in this dish and it wasn’t jelat but quite light actually despite the cream component! However, our risotto was practically swimming in a pool of tasteless oil or smt it was kinda sus ngl… but regardless it still tasted alright so do what you want with this info (we saw other pics of this dish and it didn’t have this puddle of oil so we probably went on a bad day) 🥴

Angus Beef Rib Eye 250g ($42++) 3.5/10
The ribeye was complemented nicely with a rich béarnaise sauce and a choice of sides where we picked the creamed spinach which was delish. Cutting into the steak that we ordered medium rare, we were super disappointed to find greyish dried-out meat instead of the pink juicy appearance we were expecting… We decided to inform the staff of the mistake and the steak was sent back to be replaced.

BUT the same steak was returned to us, chopped up into pieces and stacked on top of one another, cold. ☠️ Luckily, one of the attentive service staff salvaged this experience for us. Noticing that something was wrong, she apologised for returning the same steak to us due to a miscommunication with the kitchen and offered to bring us a new steak. However, as we were full we declined the offer and she waived the charges of our steak instead.

7/10 Honestly, this didn’t really hit the mark for us as we expected more after hearing all the good reviews of this pasta. Great bite to the pasta and the crab was naturally sweet, but other than that, not a standout flavor wise. We’ll definitely be ordering other items in place of this the next time!

8/10 The beef tongue skewer, glazed and sprinkled with puffed quinoa and lime zest was sublime. 🤧 The meat was so soft and complemented nicely with the sweet, umami glaze. It may seem intimidating to eat but it is totally worth trying!

8.5/10 The cheek is packed with beefy flavors and it melts-in-the-mouth. The tender texture is wonderfully juxtaposed by chives and garlic chips. The skewers were served with a side of lime aioli that matches the dish perfectly and overall, we really enjoyed Lolla’s playful rendition of this dish. 🫶🏼

9/10. Bruh this was so amazing it deserves its own post. 😤The signature black squid ink pudding is paired with briny hokkaido sea urchin. The pudding is rich, smooth and tasted intensely of oceanic squid ink flavour. While the uni wasn’t the sweetest, it paired beautifully with the pudding, elevating the entire dish. The half size was the perfect amount to share between 2 pax especially given how dense and decadent it is! Highly recommend!!

💎100 Days Barley-Fed Bone in Ribeye 1kg ($158++) 10/10
Meant for 3-4 pax, we got this in med rare and it was bloody amazing… Comes with a variety of toppings such as mash, mustard seeds and the perfect pairing for me is the beef jus 😍 Ordered some sides - Charcoal Grilled Baby Corn with Brown Butter Sabayon ($10++) which was outstanding and the Cherry Tomato Salad ($12++)

House-made Taglionlini, Sicilian Red Prawn, Bottarga ($26++) 🦐 8/10
The raw prawns in this dish was the highlight and I wished they gave more heh.. Mix it properly otherwise the saltiness from the bottarga will be overly concentrated 🫣

💎Spanish Turbot ($108++) 9/10
This was sooo good, the meat was cooked to perfection and paired well with the accompanying sauce. Lightly salted, it’s delicious even without the sauce

💎Capuccinomisu ($12++) 9/10
An untraditional take on tiramisu, but I still enjoyed this as a tiramisu lover. Spiked with port wine and using chocolate cake instead of spongy fingers, it was so good that I ordered a second serving 🐽

Overall, almost everything ordered were delish and I've been recommending all my friends to visit this place!

Short Ribs Cannellone ($23++) 7/10
Feast for the eyes! This is a type of cylindrical pasta filled with short ribs, but was a lil too cloying for my liking as the Taleggio cheese overpowered the entire dish as the tomatoes and basil failed to cut through 😔

💎House-made Pappardelle, Braised Pork Jowl, Chianti, Crispy Guanciale ($23++) 9/10
Having been here twice, I realised this dish was inconsistent as it was overly salted the first time but tasted way better on my second visit when it wasn’t as salty 😖 review based off the better one: this was rather addictive and i really like the different textures - good bite to the pasta 🍝 + the crunch from the guanciale + the soft pork jowl

Hokkaido Scallop Crudo ($24++) 8/10
The tanginess of the amalfi lemon 🍋 and capers sauce brought out the natural sweetness of the raw scallops. Enjoyed the pairing with the sweet white corn as well!

💎Octopus, Fava Bean Purée, Calabrese Chili ($24++) 8/10
The octopus was sooo tender and well seasoned, enjoyed this dish 🐙

🌟 8.5/10
💵 Damage per pax ~$90
Griglia is a rather new grill kitchen concept opened by the same people behind Zafferano! Most of the dishes were well plated and dining in a large group meant that we had the chance to try most dishes on the menu 😛

White Asparagus with Shaved Black Truffles ($32++) 9/10
This is a seasonal dish and whenever it’s white asparagus season, I can’t help but order it hehe 😗 the asparagus was so sweet and they were so generous with the truffles so this was #worth imo

💎Eggplant, Smoked Caciocavallo Fondue ($19++) 8.5/10
Layered with roma tomatoes and basil, this paired really well with the cheese fondue! 🧀

Burratina ($24++) 6.5/10
This burrata zucchini tart with pine nuts and mint was truly a feast for the eyes but unfortunately, it looked better than it tasted… Lacking some salt and personally, I prefer my burrata paired with tomatoes 🍅

💎Beef Tartare ($20++) 9/10
Paired with bone marrow, salsa verde, red radish and capers, this was quite different from your usual beef tartare but still yum! Ordered the Rustic Bread 🍞 ($6++) to go with the tartare

💎Spaghetti Di Martino ($20++) 10/10
Despite the simplicity of this, it’s actually one of my fav dishes there! The Datterino tomatoes used are brined in Italian seawater and are some of the sweetest tomatoes I’ve ever had and the quality really shows in the dish

Seasonal French Burlat Cherry & Pistachio Tart with Pistachio Ice cream ($28++) 🍒 7.5/10
Well executed and yummy but nothing to shout about. The tart filling itself had a smooth consistency and the pistachio flavour was prominent in both it and the ice cream. Cherries were fresh and tart too.

Chocolate Pot ($8++) 8/10
Rich and indulgent, this one is a dark chocolate lover’s dream. 🍫

Orange & Grand Marnier Souffle ($26++) 8.5/10
This souffle for 2 is just one of the many demonstrations of Chef Patrick’s culinary skill. Look at that height! 😮 Super light and airy, soft and fluffy. ☁️

💎 Profiteroles ($24++) 9/10
Our favorite dessert of the night, the choux pastry was light and crisp. We absolutely loved the deep dark chocolate sauce and the vanilla ice cream that finished the dish.

Crab & Saffron Linguine Pasta ($38++) 8.5/10
Another seasonal special, this pasta was light on the palate and filled with chunks of crab meat. 🥰 The saffron rich sauce coated each strand of al dente pasta, this was a real treat to eat.

💎 1kg Oven Roasted Angus Beef Prime Rib ($160++) 9.5/10
The cote du boeuf came with shallots & garlic confit. We ordered ours medium rare and it was gloriously carved tableside to reveal its perfect temperature.🤭 Tender but still with some bite, this prime rib never disappoints.

💎 Beef Tartare ($45++) 9/10
One of the best tartares I’ve ever eaten, perfectly balanced with spice, acid, fat, salt and texture. A much needed redemption after our fail at LBF. Just so good. Please try. 😤

Steamed French Bouchot Mussels ($52++) 8.5/10
We had our mussels with saffron cream sauce, also an option for white wine sauce. The bouchot mussels are just in season and hence, the mussels are smaller than what they will be later on in the season. Despite the size, the mussels packed a punch in terms of its flavor and its plumpness. Will be back to try them again when they're bigger!

Pan Seared Foie Gras ($45++) 8.5/10
The foie is paired with apple puree & almond crumble. An indulgent treat with great luxurious mouthfeel, we love the crispness of the hard sear and the soft, melt-in-your-mouth interior. 🤤

🦪 ½ Dozen Normandy Oysters ‘Mermaid’ France ($38++) 8.5/10
Served with Homemade Lime Vinaigrette
A taste of the ocean! Creamy, succulent and fresh, the oysters are especially plump around this time. Now these are what good oysters look like!😍

💎 Sauteed Frog Legs ($30++) 9/10
The French and their frog legs. Perfectly pan fried, these juicy frog legs were doused in the most flavorsome garlicky parsley sauce. We mopped the sauce up with some bread after we devoured the frog legs. 🤭

Lamb Merguez Sausage ($24++) 8/10
The nicely spiced and flavourful sausage we ordered came with heirloom tomatoes salad. Thought we’d try something new here but I’d say get the toulouse sausage instead!

Oven Baked Reblochon Cheese ($40++) 8/10
This cheese dish was cooked with bacon, potatoes and onions. Indulgent and creamy, this is best shared with others and dipped with Atout’s fluffy bread that is crispy on the outside! 👌

💎 Happy Hour Oysters ($1.5++ per pc) 7.5/10
The table is limited to ordering a dozen at a time and happy hour runs from 5-6.30pm. The oysters tasted fresh and went down smoothly. Was definitely worth coming all the way here for the oysters deal! 🦪

Truffled Mac and Cheese ($26++) 7/10
A combination of roquefort, aged cheddar, gruyere, bacon mushroom and truffle oil. Creamy and indulgent, it became cloying after a few mouthfuls 😫. Do share with friends!

Peekytoe Crab Cake ($28++) 6/10
Its description listed smoky remoulade, spanish onion, granny smith apple, shaved horseradish, charred lemon and chopped citrus salad. To be honest, for all the ingredients listed in this dish, it tasted rather one note. 😓 We enjoyed the citrus salad though.

Linguine Alla Puttanesca con vongole ($34++) 6.5/10
Was neither good nor bad. Wish it had more flavor for what the restaurant charges. 🤷‍♀️

Overall, we suggest coming to Angie’s for the happy hour oysters. Just a comment about the service, we were constantly rushed during our meal and the staff carried themselves nonchalantly and haughtily, ignoring our calls to order as well as our thanks as we left the establishment despite making eye contact. Perhaps it was a miscommunication, but we hope this doesn’t happen to you as it really affected our dining experience.

This came with 2 slabs of uber thicc charshu that was sooo tender, 4 slices of smoked duck and everyone’s favorite ramen egg. The broth was delicious and would be perfect for the rainy weather ☔️ but both meats were not as flavorful as we would have liked it
