Ate äøč¾£ and feel can be more spicy! Pricing is still quite ok $1.99/100g for mushrooms, meat and all! However the selection can be further expanded!!

ā£[Halal] Posting about hidden gems always makes me semi-nervous because Iā€™m oddly territorial about themā€¦like I want them all to myself for as long as possible. Please tell me Iā€™m not the only one who feels this way though - otherwise, Iā€™ll edit this caption at once, and weā€™ll never have to talk about it again! šŸ’€šŸ˜‚ā €

Okay, but jokes aside, I was fated to find love in this stallā€™s Maggi Goreng. The first time that me and my friend paid it a visit, it honestly left us feeling far from impressed. It was average fare at best. But by an arrow of chance, we both decided on a whim to come back here and hoooooooo boy. The subsequent visits have just been back-to-back greatness. šŸ¤¤ā €
ā €
What I loved about this? Letā€™s seeā€¦first of all, theyā€™re generous with the fried chicken - they donā€™t overdo it with the bones. Then their noodles ā€“ springy, not soggy, and got a good bite (literally bite) to them. Thirdly, I have my Maggi Goreng less spicy; they really nail it everytimeā€¦God bless them. Above all though, this HITS with the dishā€™s signature salty flavour. šŸ‘šŸ½ā €
ā €
I just have one gripe - they tend to be inconsistent with the eggsā€¦2 out of 5 times, it wonā€™t come looking picture-perfect like this. šŸ˜‚ But I can live with that!ā €

Takeaway of this story: It sometimes pays to give things another shot. ā¤ (8.7/10)

It has been awhile since i was here. Last time, i ordered the basil pork with rice set, this time i ordered the same thing and also their tom yum soup. The basil pork standard was still there, in fact, i think that there was an improvement. The basil pork is not too spicy but it packs a kick, its very fragrant as the basil is stir fried nicely. The texture of the pork is chewy and is stir fried nicely with the chilli, basil and other spices.
The tom yum soup was very very fragrant as well, the ingredients inside tasted fresh and it wasn't like those overnight stuff. There were prawns, squid, fish, and many more inside the soup. The spice level on this is a bit high but still acceptable. Overall this thai place is a hidden gem and it deserves more publicity. I would recommend this place if you wanted to try some thai cuisine.

A quiet pretty lady prepares my rojak and sprinkles it with generous peanut bits. Love the crispy Youtiao and generous portions for $4!

From a stall named Vietnamese Food Bahn Mi & Pho in the same coffeeshop as 5 Star Western Food and Thai Jing Jing (recently relocated to Hougang). This is the Vietnamese Bread with BBQ Pork. At $4, this is probably the best Bahn Mi you could get at such price. Prepared on the spot, the baguette comes totally crisp on the exterior, yet fluffy and comes buttered on the inside with a chopped peanuts for a bit of crunch and flavour (didn't know about the peanuts when I ordered though), while the pickled vegetables were tangy with a little sweetness. BBQ Pork isn't really flavourful, nor the portion could be said as generous but the slices were chunky enough to give it enough bite, but it is saved by the oh-so-savoury bun and the flavorful condiments that the pork doesn't have to carry much a taste for this to be enjoyable.
