Roasted Pork and Kailan
.

|
The person who invented this dish is a genius! The fatty pork belly drawn out the sweetness from the kailan. At the same time was tasty and "healthy".

Grilled Pork Neck ($10)
.

|
Best dish of the night. The pork was totally cooked but the pinky meat was came from fish sauce marination. The fish sauce might smell bad but after the high heat, magic happened. Together with the Thai chilli sauce, it seem that my palate took a trip to Bangkok.

Black Olive Fried Rice ($5)
.

|
Every mouth was comforting and the cashew nut changed up the texture. It's savoriness from the black olive rested nicely between the flavors from other dishes.

Tom Yum ($8) .

|
Don't be deceived by the clear broth and take it slow. While you let down your guard, the hidden spiciness would give you a high kick and knock out your taste bud. .
|
Just a word of advise, remove the seafood to prevent any overcooking.

Spice Pork Salad ($5) .

|
Lime, chilli and "everything" porky. "Spoof" It turned into this delicious minced pork salad. One small plate of this could easily accompany with four bowls of rice!

Papaya Salad ($5) .

|
Good starter for our thai dinner. Pounded young papaya with lime juice and fish sauce. Little bites of shrimps and crushed peanut changed up the texture. Can't wait for the upcoming dishes.

The best dish we had here today.

Instead of the usual steamed fish with the hot and sour chilli and lime sauce, this was with steamed squids instead. Squids were tender and cooked on point, and tasted great with that punchy Thai sourness. #burpple #burpplesg #sgfoodies #foodphotography #foodstagram #exploresingapore #foodpics #sgfoodporn #instagramsg #instasg #whati8today #instafoodsg #eatoutsg #foodforfoodies #sgfoodspotting #sgfoodunion #foodgram #instafood_sg #foodstagram #exploresingapore #instagramsg #instasg #instafoodsg #foodloversg #igsgfoodies #burpproved #sgfood #sgfoodies #sgmakandiary #NomNomSG #sgmakandiary #sgeats #stfoodtrending #thaifood

This was another of the many Thai outlets we tried in TPY.

The star was their steamed squids with chilli and lime sauce, hot and sour the way we liked it.
However, others we tried didn't impress. Grilled pork neck lacked the smooth chewy-tender texture, roast pork kailan tasted just normal, and the Tom Yum soup was disappointing as it tasted more salty fish sauce than the hot sourness.
Ingredients used here were simple which helped to keep the price of their dishes lower generally. Taste-wise, these might be the type of some less familiar part of Thailand but they just didn't appeal to us. #burpple #burpplesg #sgfoodies #foodphotography #foodstagram #exploresingapore #foodpics #sgfoodporn #instagramsg #instasg #whati8today #instafoodsg #eatoutsg #foodforfoodies #sgfoodspotting #sgfoodunion #foodgram #instafood_sg #foodstagram #exploresingapore #instagramsg #instasg #instafoodsg #foodloversg #igsgfoodies #burpproved #sgfood #sgfoodies #sgmakandiary #NomNomSG #sgmakandiary #sgeats #stfoodtrending #thaifood
