The Go-to Chirashi Don

Teppei's seasoning has always been a hit-or-miss. Unfortunately, I'm not a fan of the saltiness it. They were generous with the sashimi though, and it was relatively fresh for the price you're paying. Had several bowls here already, and I can honestly say that the quality had been consistent. The Kaisen don at Teppei daidokoro is even more substantial, with a seemingly larger portion of sashimi for a slightly higher price.

🐟 kaisen dons for days 🐟

One of the most value-for-money kaisen dons - most people get the medium sized one ($15.80 for four types of fish + add-on $3.80 for a premium topping) and so did I! Got salmon, swordfish, baby scallops, yellowtail and added mentaiko πŸ’• for a truly satisfying and quick meal.

Heavenly Goodness In A Bowl

Yup, I got tempted by all the photos on social media, the too-good-to-be-real reviews. Imma try it ma-self. $15.80 for the Medium bowl with 4 choices, topped with salmon roes. Thick cubes of sashimi, fresh, generous portions just suitable for a lunch meal.
I got the salmon, tuna, yellow tail and whelk. Best combi, everything every bite is just so yum yums.
I didn't ordered any premium items ($3.80 each) because I thought this already tasted like premium.

Value for money Sashimi dons

For a price of $7.50 , you get a bigger portion of raw delights able to choose 2 types of meat , sprinkled with ganish and sashimi soya sauce and sushi rice beneath. Each piece of meat are thick cut so you will feel satisfied after eating your favourite raw!

Kaisen Don 🍚🍣 Teppei's signature dish has garnered favourable reviews, so I decided to give it a try.

While I appreciated the marinade that goes into the chunky cubes of sashimi, I felt that the ingredients were lacking in freshness. A slight disappointment to say the least. My quest for the best chirashi-don continues, do you have any recommendations?

Kaisendon ($16.00) So Yummy

So much fish 😱actually is not cheap but definitely worth the price :)gonna try their truffle kaisendon at their Taka outlet 😍love everything with truffle .Overall rating :4/5

So Much Fish So Few Notes

Alright it isn't THAT cheap but it is quite cheap, $15 ++ for a medium sized DIY Chirashi don (choice of 4 types of fish) with an additional $3.80 for salmon roe is quite the steal :-) really a fulfilling meal because the bowl was filled to the brim with freshness !!!! Top quality generous portions means I will definitely come back for more πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹

Trying a new place at Ion for dinner tonight.

Customise your own bara chirashi don/salad. Also do not miss the $6 pork katsu that's super value for money.

Create Your Own Chirashi Don

Love the concept of being able to customise and create your own Chirashi Don, and all at a pretty affordable price. For the S size, you get to choose 2 types of fish, M 4 types and L 5 types. In addition, you can also add-on toppings such as mentaiko (love!), ikura, tamagoyaki etc. Definitely value for money and recommended, especially if you're looking for takeaway, as they have very limited seats!

DIY Special: Bara M

My own combination of salmon, tuna, yellowtail and baby scallops on sushi rice, with add-ons of tamagoyaki, mentaiko and negitoro!

[Teppei Syokudo] 8/10
Needs no explanation.

The most value for money kaisendon in Singapore! ($15.80++) Do note that there is VERY limited seating, and the queues can get quite long!
The sashimi was fresh and I loved the special sauce which is supposedly unique to Teppei. I felt that the sashimi to rice proportion was extremely skewed, but it's more sashimi for me β€” who's complaining? πŸ€—

I am so addicted to this, it's not even funny!!

πŸ’ΈπŸ˜ Succulent and thick chunks of fresh sashimi, paired with their godknowswhatsinsidetomakeitsodelicious special Teppei sauce, I srlsy just can't get enough of it 😍❀️🐟🐠 Special thanks to @explodingbelly for the 15% promo code ☺️ #burpple

Grab a few friends & head down to Teppei Syokudo at @ion_orchard & try out their #TeppeiDIY!
Sold in 3 different sizes, we ordered the smallest size ($8.80) with an additional topping ($3.80), thinking it's be their usual portion, but little did we know that it came as a sample size kind of bowl, which made it a tad bit unsatisfactory for me. Should have just gotten the Medium sized one πŸ˜” That aside, the quality is still as good & it the different sizes does give you an option to decide how much you'd rather eat!

DIY Kaisendon with additional mentaiko and salmon roe from Teppei Syokudo at Ion Orchard.

Essentially your usual reliable Teppei Syokudo experience, with one major distinction - the sashimi here is softer, more thoughtfully cubed and sized (in contrast to the mouth-busting outrageousness you occasionally get at other outlets which requires the expertise of a fault geologist/planar fracture enthusiast to gnaw through) and suitably more restrained in salt factor. The fact that here you have the liberty to pick and choose your sashimi cuts as well as add items like a rich and deranged greedy squirrel makes this concept a winner. 4.1/5
